Since the colonial era, a fundamental share of the political, economic and socio-cultural events has continued to turn over in urban centres. The spatial dynamics of urbanization of Nigeria since 1815 is reflected by so many changes in the country most especially in Lagos, Port-Harcourt which was occasioned by the opening of two North-South railways l ines. (Adepoju, Olokesusi and Egunjobi, 2001). This, in turn, permitted the rapid intricacy of cash crops farming, extractive industries, their subsequent evacuation and emergence of pecking revision of urban settlements (Mabogunje, 1968).

Urbanisation was further reinforced by the submergence of industrial and commercial activities, infrastructure, the location of administrative and government offices in urban centres.
